SUMMARY

This trip is a mysterious and fantastic experience. We will begin our journey in the city of Cusco, we will learn the tradition of each of the places we will visit, later we will go to the Amazon jungle of Puerto Maldonado, we will be able to visit one of the most interesting and beautiful lodges of the area.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: SPAIN - LIMA - CUSCO.

Upon arrival in the city of Lima, our staff will assist you to board your flight Lima — Cusco. Upon your arrival to the city of Cusco, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the hotel. You will have the evening at leisure.

DAY 2: CUSCO - CITY TOUR.

In the morning, you will have free time to walk and enjoy the city. In the afternoon, we will pick you up from the hotel to start the trip to the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and current Archaeological Capital of America: the city of Cusco. Place that keeps between its walls and streets, features of a glorious past; visiting the city and walk its streets as well as its squares is a very special experience. Our tour begins in the Cathedral, decorated with many altarpieces in gold leaf as well as his pictures of the Cusco school dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Then we will continue the tour to reach the Temple of Santo Domingo of Guzman, where the remains of what was the Temple of the Sun, known as Qoricancha. Continuing with the visit, we will arrive at the Inca archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, a complex strategically built on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco; also, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. We will return to the hotel.

DAY 3: CUSCO – PISAQ – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES.

Our tour starts with the trip to the town of Pisac. On the way, we will have a stop at the Taray viewpoint, from where we will have a view of the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then we continue to the archaeological park of Pisac and the traditional market of the town. After that, we will start the trip to Urubamba, to have lunch. Later, we will continue to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo and after the visit, we will go to the station to board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes.

DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES - POROY - CUSCO.

This day, very early in the morning, we will pick you up from the hotel to take the bus to the lost city of the Incas: Machu Picchu, considered a jewel of Inca architecture, with squares, houses, agricultural areas, roads, observatories, etc. The citadel, built on one of the flanks of the old mountain in the middle of the semitropical vegetation of the place. The American explorer Hiram Bingham rediscovered the citadel on July 24, 1911. After the guided tour, you will have time to continue exploring this magical place. Optionally, you can climb the mountain Huaynapicchu (This activity must be reserved in advance, has an additional cost and is subject to space availability). Later we will go back to the town to take the train from Aguas Calientes to Poroy station. Then a private car will drive us to Cusco.

DAY 5: CUSCO - MARAS - MORAY - CUSCO.

This day, we continue exploring the Sacred Valley, visiting the town of Maras, where the inhabitants have been mining the salt following the ancestral system that comes from the pre-Inca period. We will observe the incredible place with its different colors and contrasts. Then we will go to Moray, an old experimentation center for the acclimatization of plants. Following the visit, return to the city of Cusco.

DAY 6: CUSCO – PITUMARKA – QESIUNO – MT ARCOÍRIS – QESIUNO – CUSCO.

This day, very early in the morning, approximately at 3:00 am we will pick you up from the hotel to begin our incredible adventure. The journey will take approximately 3 hours. We will go south to the town of Quesiuno, the starting point of the walk. On the way, we will observe the impressive agricultural terraces dating from the Inca era, valleys and Rocky Mountains.
Once we reach the end of the road, we will start our trek. After a small ascent, the presence of herds of alpacas and llamas will surprise you. We will have spectacular views of the Ausangate Mountain, considered one of the tutelary gods of the area. Our tour will take us through small towns in which we will interact with local people that still keep their culture alive. After walking for approximately 3 hours, we will arrive at our destination: The Rainbow Mountain (5,020 m / 16,466 ft.). Here, our guide will give us an explanation about the formation of the mountain and its permanence in time. Then you may enjoy the natural scenery and explore the area. You will have time to take pictures and marvel at the impressive scenery. We will stay for about 30 minutes at the top before starting the return walk to get to the bus and start the return trip that will take us approximately 3 hours to Cusco. We will arrive at the Regocijo square of Cusco. Approximate arrival time is at 7:00 p.m.

DAY 7: CUSCO – PUERTO MALDONADO

At the scheduled time, our staff will pick you up from the hotel to take you to the airport for the flight to Puerto Maldonado.
Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Capital of Biodiversity of Peru, our representative will meet you at the airport from where we will begin our program with a bus tour of the city.
Then, we will go to Puerto Capitanía, to embark on a motorized boat and navigate the Lower Madre of Dios River. During the trip, we will immerse ourselves in a fascinating natural environment. With luck, we will be able to observe Ronsocos, Caimans, Turtles, Herons, Cormorants and other animal species of the area.
When you arrive at the hostel, our staff will receive you with a delicious tropical amazon fruit nectar. After the check-in, we will lead you to your room (bungalow).
At midday, you will have lunch in our cozy rustic design dining room.
VISIT TO COCHA CAIMÁN
After lunch, our specialized guide will take you on an excursion through a trail conveniently signposted towards Cocha Cayman, a small lagoon with an abundant presence of specimens of black alligator (Melanosuchus Niger) and white alligator (Caiman crocodilus).
At the end of the afternoon, you will witness the spectacular sunset in the Amazon, an experience full of color in incredible ranges and intensities.
Upon returning to the hostel, you will enjoy dinner and, at the end, you will be able to enjoy the services of our bar equipped with excellent board games room provided with a wide variety of drinks and cocktails.

DAY 8: PUERTO MALDONADO

The magic begins with the songs of the birds of the Amazonian paradise, when waking up with the song of the Mono Aullador (Alouatta senículus). A delicious breakfast will provide you with energy for a morning full of new experiences.
After breakfast, the hike starts towards the depths of the forest, through specially prepared trails, with bridges to cross the streams and rivers.
During the ride, we will observe the flooded forest of an impressive variety of flora and fauna, our journey will take us to the majestic Apu Víctor Lake, of crystalline waters, surrounded by immense swamps and gigantic trees.
After, we will climb the Amazonian Viewpoint, from which we will enjoy a panoramic view over the lake, observing birds such as Parrots, Macaws, Toucans, Camungos, Shanshos (Hoatzin, which is a type of prehistoric wild chicken), Herons and others. Also animals such as alligators, turtles, etc. If we are lucky, we can observe the giant otter, one of the most spectacular animals of the jungle. Back to the lodge, a repairing lunch will await you.
MONOS ISLAND
In the afternoon, in the company of our specialized guide, we will visit the Monos Island, a unique place in the heart of the Madre of Dios River, located five minutes away from the lodge. During the trek, we will observe extraordinary landscapes, with lush vegetation, sheltering a variety of species of monkeys in their natural habitat, such as Maquisapa,
Capuchino, Leoncillo, and Fraile. With luck, other species of animals, such as Coati and Sloth Bears. As well as a great variety of birds.
Finally, we will complete our visit to the island, enjoying the sunset, an impressive spectacle for the range of colors. Then we will return to the lodge and conclude the day with a nice dinner.

DAY 9: PUERTO MALDONADO – LIMA.

After a restful night of rest, breakfast will await you in our dining room, before you undertake the return to Puerto Maldonado, in time for you to take your flight back to Lima.

DAY 10: LIMA – INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT.

At the scheduled time, you will have the transfer to Lima airport to board your international flight.
